Nature Might Be the Best Stress Reliever for Teens and it is Free by Mar Vincent Cordovez
I read about a study that looked at how spending time in nature affects teens, and the results were pretty eye-opening. Basically, teens who spent at least half an hour a day in parks or green spaces had way less anxiety and slept better than those who did not. We are talking about a 25% drop in anxiety levels just from being outside more often.
The journal review said nature works like a buffer against stress. Even short, regular time outdoors can make a big difference. That makes sense to me that there is something calming about fresh air and trees that you just don’t get from screens and classrooms.
Now some schools are thinking about adding more outdoor time into the day, like green recess zones or outdoor learning. With teen anxiety on the rise, this feels like a simple, affordable way to help and it does not require fancy tech or expensive programs. Just nature doing its thing.
